Why Us
This show celebrates the raw energy of live performance and spectacle. AI continues to threaten authenticity in film and TV (Even the UFC uses AI to promote their fights now), a live event remains one of art’s purest expressions. By merging the world’s most popular live events, music and sports, we set out to carve a new path in theatre. Mixed Martial Arts is the fastest-growing sport on the planet, and no theatre exploring it or it's intersection with live music. Our production boasts a unique and creative voice.
This is not about how music makes us feel, the music industry, or the connotations of the barbarity of the sport of MMA... The Eight Faces of Ellie Morrison’s central idea is about making tough decisions and dealing with the consequences. It takes courage to make the jump.
I believe there is an audience for that. For the people who can't make up their mind or choose to coast right in the middle. People who talk about leaving a job, a relationship, moving to a new state or country and then soon ten years have passed and nothing has changed, etc. This play discussed the benefits (and repercussions) of making a choice with your life- whether it turns out good or bad is irrelevant, but having the courage to make that first move is an effective call to action that I think resonates with a large audience.
