Why Us
This show celebrates the raw energy of live performance and spectacle. In a time when AI threatens authenticity in film and TV, a live event remains one of art’s purest expressions. By merging the world’s most popular live events, music and sports, we set out to carve a new path in theatre. Mixed Martial Arts is the fastest-growing sport on the planet, and no theatre exploring it or it's intersection with live music. Our production boasts a unique and creative voice.
This is not about how music makes us feel, the music industry, or the connotations of the barbarity of the sport of MMA... The Eight Faces of Ellie Morrison’s central idea is about tough making tough decisions and dealing with the consequences. It takes courage to make the jump.
One of our character knew exactly who they were supposed life should look like, another shied away because they couldn't see the trail. The latter character, Luke Morrison, is thrust into a position he's not ok with, but it is ultimately the thing he's missing most. How do you wrestle with that? We explore what happens when those minds not only meet but are related to one another!
I believe there is an audience for that. For the people who can't make up their mind or choose to coast right in the middle. People who talk about leaving a job, a relationship, moving to a new state or country and then soon ten years have passed and nothing has changed, etc. This play discussed the benefits (and repercussions) of making a choice with your life- whether it turns out good or bad is irrelevant, but having the courage to make that first move is an effective call to action that I think resonates with a large audience.
